Material testing laboratory aims to ensure the safety, durability, and quality of construction materials like concrete, steel, and soil by evaluating their properties to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications. The lab facilitates the commercial testing, which is crucial for preventing structural failures, identifying defects early, and ensuring long-term performance and compliance with regulations. 
The laboratory facilities are frequently used for the Final Year Design Projects (FYDP), postgraduate research and studies leading to Ph.D. The laboratory is equipped with a state-of-the-art 500kN, 1000 kN and 2000 kN Universal Testing Machine, a Compression Testing Machine of 2000 kN capacity, Tinus Olsen Universal Testing Machine of 60,000 pounds, a Forney Pipe Testing Machine of 300 kN capacity, apart from other equipment for testing and data acquisition. The laboratory equipment has been overhauled and calibrated.
