Inquiry Into Design Methods Used In Mughal Architecture
A Case of Shah-jehan Mosque Thatta

The workshop aimed to investigate architectural design methods used in Shah Jehan Mosque, Thatta, Pakistan. The primary focus of the workshop was to unravel the methods and principles used to determine the architectural form of the mosque. The workshop was based on available and published drawings coupled with on-site measurements and investigation. Additional aspects of the workshop included: geometric glazed tile mosaics of the interior, calligraphy, arch-netted domes and Muqarnas vault of the Mihrab. 

Theoretical background for Mughal design methods was provided through lecture presentations and studio-seminars. The display presented the methods and principles of design of Shah Jehan Mosque, determined and analyzed during the workshop.
